A new role for a former guide dog

Meet Thelma, a black labrador cross golden retriever who has just made her first offical PAT Dog visit to Blackpool Victoria Hospital. And while she wasn't allowed on the wards due to current Covid-19 restrictions, the loveable dog did provide some stress release therapy for hard-working NHS staff.

PAT Volunteer Anne rehomed Thelma after her previous owner, Cheryl, sadly passed away. Thelma was Cheryl's guide dog and was a very popular girl among the Preston Guide Dog group, who have raised thousands of pounds for the charity.

Anne thought Thelma should join the PAT family and continue to bring joy to people's lives. We're sure Cheryl would be very proud.
