A festive story about friendship and smiles
A new Christmas advert for Prime Video, featuring the story of an unlikely friendship between a hyena and a zookeeper, is reminding everyone of the joy animals can give people. And in recognition of the theme of the ad, Prime Video has committed to giving Pets As Therapy a generous donation.
“For our first Christmas advert for Prime Video here in Europe, we wanted to show that great TV shows and movies bring people and, occasionally, animals together,” said Helen Cowley, Marketing Director, Prime Video Europe. “Hattie the hyena is sure to capture the imagination of all who encounter her. We know animals can play a special role in bringing smiles to many faces and are delighted to be donating to UK charity Pets As Therapy in recognition of the incredible work they do to connect people and animals over Christmas and all year round.”
Clare Davis, Pets As Therapy CEO, adds: “Pets As Therapy (PAT) is thrilled to have received an exceptional donation from Prime Video. It is wonderful to see a heart-warming advert which emphasises the unique and special bond between people and animals. There’s no doubt that animals are amazing and they improve our lives every single day.
“Our PAT Teams are made up of incredible volunteers and their pets, who visit care homes, hospitals, schools and other locations around the UK, not just during the festive season, but throughout the year. A friendly visit from a PAT Team can be a lifeline for those who are feeling lonely, isolated, anxious or unwell, and now, thanks to the generosity of Prime Video, our charity will be able to recruit and assess more volunteers and their dogs and cats.
“Pets As Therapy endeavours to provide joy and companionship to those who need it most. This Christmas we are extremely grateful to Prime Video for their special gift.”
