Pets As Therapy (PAT) is a unique charity that supports volunteers and their pets to do amazing work in local communities bringing joy and happiness to those they visit.

Formed in 1983, Pets As Therapy enhances health and wellbeing in the community through the facilitation of volunteer visits. Visiting hospitals, hospices, nursing and care homes, special needs schools and a variety of other venues throughout the UK, we enable an improved quality of life for thousands of people every year.

We want to strengthen all aspects of how we work and achieve sustainable growth, reaching and changing even more peoples’ lives and put Pets As Therapy on the map as a centre of excellence for volunteering. Trustees are appointed on fixed term 3 years in the first instance. We wish to strengthen the Board’s profile and enhance the diversity of composition and experience.

To support this, we are seeking new Trustees to join the Board and help to steer the charity towards achieving its ultimate vision – a future where all people of every age across the UK who can benefit from our support are able to access our volunteers and their pets to improve their quality of life.
