I live in Surrey with my wife, daughter and Westie, who is my very own therapy dog – helping me to relax after another hard day at the office. Through being around dogs I have seen the positive benefits for both young and old alike – reduced symptoms of stress, the enthusiasm from children who come up wanting to play, the social aspect of chatting to passers-by, the healthy walks and having a loyal friend. This is what attracted to me to Pets As Therapy.
After 17 years in the private sector The Close Brothers’ Trustee Leadership Programme was a great introduction to volunteering in the charity sector. I was delighted to be invited on to the board of Pets As Therapy and look forward to working with the management team and volunteers in the future, and to hearing all your stories.
