All breeds of cat can become part of a PAT Team, they must have been with their owner for at least 6 months, be over 9 months of age and be able to pass the temperament assessment. All pets must be fully vaccinated. 

To request our cat visiting team application pack please complete the form below. We will send your application pack as soon as possible. Application packs are only available to residents of the United Kingdom who are over 18 years old.

Unfortunately, we cannot support you if you wish to have your cat at the workplace with you as we do not have the assessment process or the insurance to cover this. If you would like to become a volunteer with your cat and would be able to visit within our guidelines please complete the form below.

If you have two or more pets, then you can add these later. Please register your first pet now and then follow the instructions in our Volunteer Community.
(A cat that has NOT been IMMUNISED cannot be accepted as a Pets As Therapy cat 
and Feline Leukaemia (FELV) is recommended but not essential)
(Please only advise us of any current medical condition of your pet that we may need to know about)

Registered Volunteer & Pets:

I confirm that once my pet is registered and I become a Pets As Therapy volunteer I will:

  • Abide by the Volunteer Handbook and policies of Pets As Therapy
  • Abide by the policies and procedures of the establishments I visit with my pet
  • Maintain and present my Pets As Therapy pet in good health, free from parasites and well groomed
  • Not feed my Pets As Therapy pet a raw meat diet or one containing unpasteurised milk
  • Accept complete responsibility for my actions and my pet’s actions whilst on visits
  • Display my Pets As Therapy photo identity badge and my pet’s photo ID on all visits
  • Keep my PAT pet on a regular lead during visits.  (Not a training lead, flexi lead, retractable lead, head collar, check chain or restraining harness.)

Data Protection and Privacy:

I consent to Pets As Therapy processing my personal data for the purposes of processing my application and subsequent volunteer administration. I further consent to Pets As Therapy sending me information relevant to volunteering for the charity, to the establishments I visit and about the wider work of Pets As Therapy.

I understand that my contact details (only) will be passed to a Pets As Therapy Area Co-ordinator to facilitate registration and co-ordinate and support me in volunteering.


Pets As Therapy takes all reasonable care to ensure the security of my data in storage and processing.

Pets As Therapy does not sell or disclose my details to any third party individual or organisation unless required to do so by law

Driver Declaration:

If I drive a vehicle when acting as a Pets As Therapy volunteer, I hold a full driving licence, my vehicle has a current MOT, I have valid insurance and I have advised my insurers of (a) any driving convictions or health conditions that would affect my driving and (b) that I am undertaking voluntary work    

When you have submitted this form, you will receive an email response.  If you have met our volunteer requirements a link will give you access to our secure online Volunteer area where you will need to complete your application.  

If at this stage we cannot accept your application, or need more information,  the email will give details.
